Enjoyable weather to sit outside and slow stitch. Progress is being made on Augusta and hope to finish this week. Admittedly, I'm ready to be done and begin something new. Have you every felt that the same?
American patriotic pillow is completed. Due to its narrow shape, the blue star is not as visible as it wraps around the form it loses some effect. I should not be surprised as the star is only 6 x 6 inches. Finishing the back was quick and easy - it's called the envelope style. Opps! I did not allow enough fabric for it to wrap around properly. For a seasonal pillow, it's good enough.
After I return from a local lavender farm (last year's photo), I shall be stitching along with talented stitchers at Kathy's! Have a good week, Jill

Re the end of a project. I tend to either get all "MUST finish this project NOW!" rush to the end or "Don't want this end, procrastination on the last details and FFO work.
This is how I ended up with almost 50 things in the 'under the bed box of shame'. I do love your little ornament, though. And the pillow is super cute.
Perfect day for outside stitching! Your pillow looks great. I like the backing fabric.
I love your Augusta stitching - it brings memories of watching the tournament for years. I'm not a big golf fan, but I faithfully watch Augusta every year!
Great pillow finish!
Yes, I have often felt "I wish this (sewing project) would be finished sooner rather than later. I think your patriotic looks great. How lovely to sit outside and stitch in the warmth. I'm inside huddled in front of the fire. =)
It looks like a lovely Michigan summer day to be stitching outside. There are many times when I'm ready to be done with a particular project. I guess that's how I end up with UFO's.
The patriotic pillow looks great, Jill. And I love that lavander field picture. there is lavander in my garden so I can imagine the scent in the air, so relaxing;
Oh, I bet your trip to the lavender field was wonderful, Jill! Did you purchase plants there or just go to enjoy the beauty (and fragrance!)?
Your Augusta needlepoint is coming along nicely and I love your patriotic pillow. No worries about the back, I say--who looks at that part anyway?
Hope you are having some nice weather in Michigan--ours has been lovely, but the (much-needed) rain moved in yesterday for a few days. Have a great week!
I know what you mean about wanting to get a project finished. There’s always another more exciting one to start! Nice pillow and nothing wrong with an envelope finish on the back! I love lavender, I bet the bees were having a fabulous time!
