Oakland County Quilt Show Part 2

More photos of Michigan's Oakland County Quilt Guild's 2014 Show.  Below each full-view photo, is a picture of tag with name of maker.  It was a lovely show and I wish I could have taken photos of all the quilts. Thanks in advance for not pinning images on Pinterest.

Before, the eye candy begins, I would like to announce the recipient of the giveaway.   Terry's name (of Terry's Treasures) was randomly drawn this morning.  The Fons & Porter Fabric Mechanical Pencil will be on its way.  A big Thank You to all who commented.

I am going to end the show photos with a different Aunt Millie's Garden than the one I first photographed in Part 1.  They are very similar with the red backgrounds.  I thoroughly enjoyed viewing them both.  I love this pattern by Piece O Cake Designs and I am seriously contemplating adding it to my bucket list.  I wonder how long it takes to make?

In a few days, I hope to travel to Sauder Village in Ohio for their quilt show.  I hope to post some more quilt photos.

Quilt Show & Give Away

Welcome to Happy 2 Stitch!  Same blog as I Rather Quilt, just a new name and a new web address.  All previous posts have been imported.  A give away is being offered for the occasion which will be simply detailed at end of post.

A few weeks ago I attended my first quilt show in 2014.  It was hosted by the Oakland County Quilt Guild in Michigan.  Listed below are only a few of the wonderful quilts that were neatly hung in a church gymnasium.

This is Part One.  Part Two will follow in a few days.  Each quilt is followed by a photo of exhibit tag with name of maker(s).  The close up of tag also shows the pretty fabrics and stitching better than the larger images.  Please do not pin these images on Pinterest.

This online quilt show will start with one of my favorite patterns, Aunt Millie's Garden by Piece O Cake Designs.  The pattern is on my bucket list.  Actually, there were two similar quilts at this show.  The second Aunt Millie's will be shown in Part Two.

Below is the sweetest quilt displayed.  The maker embellished the printed panels with trim.  Super cute!

Below is a Wall Hanging

Part 2 of quilt show will be posted within a few days.

GIVEAWAY Now Closed.

Now for the the free give away.  A brand-new fabric mechanical pencil for marking your quilting lines.  I discovered this pencil while hand quilting Rhett & Scarlett.  The fine white chalk lead made neat and tidy lines on the dark fabric.  It easily brushes/rubs/erases off.  It is the best marker that I have found to date and trust me I have tried lots over the years.  It is made by Fons & Porter.

To be entered into the drawing is leave a comment on this post. That's it!  Give-away entry is from now until Sunday, April 27, midnight EST.

A name will be randomly drawn on Monday, and I will contact the winner by email.  Should I not be able to contact the person via email within 24 hours, then I shall go to the second name drawn.  The winner's first name and blog name, if applicable, will be posted also.

This give-away is not being sponsored by Fons & Porter.  I am just happy to share a tool that I found to be beneficial in the hand quilting process.  Pencil will be shipped first-class mail to U.S. and international bloggers.

Unfinished Bunny

Opps!  Didn't get the knitted bunny completed this week although I gave it my best shot.

Since it is Easter, I am not going to get mad at myself.  Other fun spring priorities came along (visiting mall Easter bunny and a church-school sponsored egg hunt).  Life also happened (car spent time at mechanics garage).  It's all good though as the Easter basket is still filled with other fun things.

Knitting a little cotton rabbit will continue and may be more enjoyable as the pressure is off!

May you all have a blessed Easter Sunday.

Snow on Easter Eggs

We have all heard the term, "Frost on the Pumpkins."  Here we have "Snow on the Easter Eggs."

Daffodils were blooming in my backyard and I did not see them until it was too late :-(

Good news is that the pansies may be okay and our weather is warming to 58 degrees.  Springtime in Michigan.

Slow Knit

For today's Slow Sunday Stitching, I will be knitting an ever-so-cute bunny rabbit.

You may have seen this hand-stitched project on a previous post.  However, it was set aside while I worked on Rhett & Scarlett in order to meet several quilt show deadlines.

So here I am again stitching with yet another time-sensitive (Easter) project.  Lol!  I should be fine as I have refreshed my knitting skills this past week while viewing Knitting Help free videos.  The ears are completed.

Later this afternoon I shall be knitting while watching the Masters golf tournament.  Spring feels so good!

If you are a fast knitter and are interested in making a knitted bunny rabbit this upcoming Easter week, the pattern is readily available for a quick download on Ravelery.  The designer's website is Little Cotton Rabbits.  So so cute!

P.S.  New blog name (Happy 2 Stitch) is forthcoming. Please note all above links and referrals are totally unsolicited as I enjoy sharing what I learn in blogland.
