Coincidentally, this week Kathy of Slow Sunday Stitching is requesting stitchers to post a photo of their corner of the world when they hand stitch in good weather. This is the view I have when I stitch outdoors.
The warm summer breezes and fresh air on my back patio will last only a couple more weeks here in Michigan. If it's warm in the morning, I'll try to sneak in a few stitches with my cup of coffee. In the evening, I may have a glass of ice tea or occasionally a another beverage that supports Michigan's wine industry. ;-)
Today I am appliqueing with Kaffe Fassett fabrics. The pattern is Flower Pots by Kim McLean. It's been on my bucket list quite a while.
Best wishes tomorrow for a safe, happy Labor Day!

You have some wonderful views to stitch by and the lovely applique you are working on is bright and cheerful. Have a safe and happy Labor Day
Lovely spot to stitch! I like to sit outside in my gazebo. Great appliqué project!
I love your back porch spot to stitch and I love your Kaffe applique project too.. no worries on not blogging... nice thing is you can always step back into to it.
I also enjoy coffee or tea but occasionally I will treat myself to a not too sweet White Zinfandel wine glass ;) Hope you enjoy some of your favorite kind this holiday weekend while stitching away! Have a wonderful weekend ... Kathi
I will be starting this quilt in the New Year and am stuck on what fabrics to use. I did Kim McLean's Flower Garden using Fassett fabrics and it's great, but wondering how I can change up. I will probably use those fabrics again, though, as they are great for these patterns :)
great piece you are working on and nice spot outside to enjoy - I enjoy my porch when it is not too hot outside and if I am home in the fall I enjoy stitching outside a lot - won't be home this year though leaving in the morning!
The open area between yards is nice. On the other side of patio (not pictured), there are houses closer. I do appreciate the main view. The fabrics are pleasant to work with and they do cheer me up!
The lighting is much better and easier on my eyes when I stitch outside. How nice to have a gazebo. So far so good on this appliqué project.
The porch works for me, yet I admit that I do envy your spacious yard with a pond. There were several Sundays that I wanted to blog my slow stitching, but life got in the way. WZ can be refreshing on a hot summer weekend ;-) such as the one we are having.
That's great you have project planned for the New Year. I envy your planning. I think Flower Pots has less pieces that Flower Garden. Each quilt will be different regardless as his prints are so varied. I'm trying to stick with his medium pastels.
The afternoons are too hot for me also. The patio faces west and the sun beats down. If there is a decent breeze, the table umbrella has to be closed so no sun protection on those days. I shall watch for your fall travel adventures. Have a safe trip.
You have a pretty outdoor spot for stitching. It's still too hot and humid to stitch outdoors here in NC, but I hope to take mine to the porch soon. Your fabrics are gorgeous...so happy and bright!
What a happy view! I adore your flower -- it's quite fun!! Happy stitching!! :)
It looks like a wonderful place to stitch. Have a great week and I'll raise my coffee cup to you tomorrow morning :)
It is enjoyable to sit outdoors and sew on pleasant days. It’s nice to hear the birds and kids playing. The bright fabrics are fun to applique.
Thank you. The flower is fun.
Coffee cheers in the morning. Hope you can take a stitch or two while you sip your coffee.
what a lovely setting!
