Crochet Flower

Learning to crochet a flower is the slow stitching project for today. The knitted cowl is finished, yet it is begging for an embellishment! This pattern by Cheryl Dee Crochet, found on etsy, is exactly what I envisioned.

As mentioned in the last post, I attended a quilt retreat. The excellent lighting and the ambiance of finished quilts hanging is aprreciated. It was an enjoyable retreat with progress made on two UFOs. One UFO is a pumpkin quilt and many stems were completed. Although, it’s too late for Halloween, perhaps the quilt top will be finished by Thanksgiving (in the States) 🤞

On the way to retreat, I drive by a spooky old house. This fall, the morning sun was shining brightly on the structure that qualifies as a Hollywood set.

Jack Frost paid his first visit a few days ago. Fortunately, he was unable to touch the porch protected pots.

Wish me luck as I crochet a flower while linking with Kathy's Slow Sunday Stitchers.

Jack Frost visited us last night and we were prepared by saving the huge feta we have on our front porch! Yay! Now it’s 50 and sunny! Go figure!!!

Oh no, Jack Frost has visited your place!! He is such a pest. I would love to roam around the interiors of that house. I would love to climb up all those stairs and peek through the windows at the very top; if only I could climb flight after flight of stairs, that is. Your little crochet flower is pretty. I wish I could crochet but I always seem to have trouble in holding the yarn loosely. Your Hocus Pocus quilt is beautiful and fun. And....as for the ambience of your quilt retreat. All those gorgeous quilts hanging way up high are inspiring. How fabulous you were able to enjoy some time away in the company of other like-minded quilters. Almost like old times.

That crocheted flower is really lovely! What a great 'haunted house'!! Jack Frost hasn't visited us quite yet ... I wish he wouldn't delay! I'm ready for the mosquitoes to be done! LOL! :)

Your crocheted flower is the perfect accent for your pretty cowl, Jill! Have never tried crocheting or knitting or quilting, but I certainly can appreciate all the time and patience that goes into them...

What a great haunted-looking house! I don't think I'd want to be anywhere near it at night, though. So glad you enjoyed the quilting retreat. Love the new quilt top you are working on now. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving if I don't visit before then!

I hope the crocheted flower turned out. Great accent for your cowel. So nice to get lots done at a sewing retreat! I was at one the last three days.
