Slow Skate Stitching

Finally, there is some progress on the skate ornament. The excuse for stalling was some stitching and fiber choices were not quite right. Therefore, the stitches were carefully removed and I began again. The red bow and green holly leaves are complete other than red glass beads for holly berries. Fancy embellishments, which I'm anxious to do, has to be added last.

The 1,000 piece Paris puzzle was completed.

Five years ago I was fortunate to visit Paris for a few days. I long to return.

There will be more skate stitching today as I join Kathy's popular Slow Sunday Stitching linky party.

Pray for Ukraine.

Jill

Your ice skating ornament is looking great.... your Paris puzzle looks very cool but I love the pics of your own traveling to France 5 years ago.... Praying constantly for Ukraine here and hoping peace talks work out something that works for all the world and ends this scary time ... however I doubt it and am proud that Ukraine is doing all they are to hold Russia off from overtaking their country!

Love an embellishment! Look forward to that bit too. It’s years since I’ve visited Paris. Seeing your puzzle and photo makes me want to go back.

Your beautiful skates have a vintage look. I will leave the jigsaw puzzle to you, Jill. It takes me forever to finish one...if ever. A beautiful photo of you standing at the bottom of the Eiffel Tower. How fabulous to have wandered around Paris for a short while. It is on my bucket list to visit Monet's garden in Giverny, but I don't suppose I will be ticking that dream off any time soon. As for Ukraine and it's beautiful people, yes let us all envelop them with our prayers giving them strength in the days ahead. I have just heard that the unhinged Putin is now talking nuclear weapons because he is furious about NATO's, and the world's sanctions etc etc being placed on him and Russia!! Truly, a most despicable, dangerous and evil individual!!

Funny when our eyes, fingers, and heart tell us when something isn't quite right, but then dah, dah, the perfect solution. A sweet ornament.

Your ice skate ornament is looking lovely, Jill. I like all the various stitches as compared to just the x's of cross stitch. The puzzle is great, too! My middle son and his girlfriend are huge puzzle makers and I pick up a couple for them each time I visit Goodwill. Amazingly most of them have all their pieces!

How wonderful to have visited Paris. I have never been. We had all these plans for travel when my husband retired and then Covid hit. Oh well... hopefully soon!

Take care now ♥
